The Challenge

Employee leave management or the lack of it was the core problem faced by the client. Leave requests were managed via email or in-person. There was no formal leave process in place. Staff would apply for leave a day prior and without advance intimation due to which there was no sufficient time to allocate a substitute without disruption of schedule. There was no record of whether an employee was present or not on a particular day. As a result, a single complete leave report could not be created which could give all stakeholders clarity of leaves and which could then be used to approve or leave requests from a particular team or department.

With a single application where employees, managers and HR could apply, approve and view requests, the HR could track the leave of employees and prevent misuse of leaves.

Every employee was allotted a standard leave bucket, spread across different types of leaves which could be configured by HR as per specific criteria.E.g. earned leaves, statutory leaves, nursing leaves, army job leaves.

Leave applications were now routed to the HR as well at the time of application instead of being separately sent by reporting managers, thus reducing wastage of time.

Employee Self-Service portal allowed employees to login across devices andapply forleave on-the-go in case of emergencies.
